Home phone systems... should I get the Panasonic?

We want to get a home phone system so we can easily intercom each other... anyone have any experience with two-line, intercom, home systems!? We need around eight phones.... we're looking at these Panasonic ones that seems like a good deal at $100 a pop.

Note: I'm a fan of just using my cell phone an skype, but we need to be able to have folks buzz from the front gate and we want to be able to intercom each other, so the concept of not having a phone system is--unfortunately--not in the cards.

Dave Winer (above), Peter Rojas (below, left with Walt Mossberg at CES) and I did a quick call last night about making a podcasting device.

We used Skype and HotRecorder and it worked really, really well (after I got it setup). It records in stereo really nice... sounds like we're in the same room.

Dave was in a very animated mood. The show starts at 2:49 minutes in... the first two minutes are Dave ranting about Yahoo TV.

Here's the MP3 file

JM gives an interview to USA Today about some new AOL products in the social networking and VOIP space.

Now, I can't talk about the details on these new projects. However, I have seen them and been lightly involved in them and I can tell you they are very, very slick.
